A Design Adventure ー Children Wear Culture
Join a Creative Journey That Blends Fashion,
Culture, and Self-Discovery
Borderless Design School, renowned for its global creative programs, returns to Dubai
with a new and immersive workshop.
In this special experience, children will dive into the world of traditional Arab fashion and
create their own miniature costume — a unique
cultural expression crafted by their own hands.
Presented in partnership with the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority, the Emirate’s official cultural institution,
this event invites young creators to experience
the joy of designing across cultures.
Following successful workshops around the world— including previous sessions in Dubai —
this interactive class will now take place
at the Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children.
Rooted in the Japanese philosophy of “Onko Chishin” — learning from the past to inspire the future — this program nurtures the power of creativity,
helping children honour tradition
while expressing their modern sensibilities.
ーCreate traditional Arab costumes as a young designer
Children will learn the design elements of traditional Arab garments and use their own hands to craft a miniature version. Through pattern, color, and texture, they will experience the creative joy of turning cultural knowledge into a one-of-a-kind design.
ーNurture imagination in a safe and inspiring environment
Our workshops are thoughtfully designed to provide a nurturing space where children can express themselves freely. With gentle guidance and rich cultural materials, each child’s unique imagination is celebrated and supported.

dedicated to nurturing children's creativity around the world.
This workshop embraces the spirit of “Onko Chishin” —
a Japanese philosophy that encourages us to learn from the past to inspire the future.
